#177 - Keystone Cache

6-26-09
This one was only about 300 feet from the truck...but it was up on top of a rocky hill. Kendall and Keeley had tennis shoes on and decided to go rock climbing to get this one. They went up and found the cache and a beautiful view! Keeley gets credit for this one.

#176 - Keystone / Rushmore Dancing Bear - Juan Bearvolta

6-26-09
This one we grabbed after taking an "Old Time Photo" with the whole Kruse family and playing mini-golf. This was located by a wooden carved bear. The girls and I got out and looked, but Jack noticed where it would be from the car. We will give Jack and Kendall credit for this one...he told KJ where it was and he went to grab it.

6-26-09
Before heading to Keystone for the afternoon, we stopped in Sturgis to check it out and find a few caches. The first one was located in the park. Kendall found it again. There were lots of cottonwood trees in the area, so Kendall's t-shirt was spotted with cotton.

This cache was off of the Mickelson Trail. The clue was "take the high road." We took the high road and walked for about 1/2 mile uphill on a nice path. Jack spotted an old rusty car and told us he saw the cache. Kendall went down the hill after it. They both get credit for this one.

Another stop on our way to the Black Hills. Kendall and I went after this one...we thought we were taking the easy way. Ha! We ended up in a forest of wet branches that we could not find our way out of...but we were only 50 feet from the cache. After getting very dirty, we finally got out of the trees and were in wide open spaces again. KJ found this one under a small pine tree. It was an ammo box with a Minnie and Mickey TB in it. They wanted to visit Mt. Rushmore. So we took them with us.

Everyone on the website was saying the coords. were 40 feet off so that helped us with the location. There was only one place it could be. We found a huge bush that surrounded the tree. Now we just had to search the piney bush. Lots of possibilities. Finally, I found it in the bush.
